Albania (Shqipëria), is officially called Republic of Albania (Republika e Shqipërisë). It is a country situated in western part of Balkan Peninsula, close to Adriatic and Ionian Sea. Area of the county is 28.748 Coastal line is 362 km. On the western part of Albania is lowland area, the rest of the territory (70%) is a mountainous and wooded terrain. Albania is a member of NATO since 2009.

Parliament of the country is unicameral National Assembly (with 140 seats). 100 deputies are elected by the majority system in single-member districts (only two rounds), 40 - according to party lists with a barrier of 4 percent.
