Malaysia is a country that is located in South Eastern part of Asia, it consists of two parts, which divide the South China Sea: West Malaysia, which is located in the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula and the adjacent islands. This part of Malaysia shares borders with the following countries: Thailand (North), Singapore (South), Indonesia along Malacca Strait. East Malaysia is located on the northern part of the island of Borneo and the adjacent islands, this part of Malaysia borders with the following countries: Brunei (North) Indonesia (South). According to the form of government Malaysia is federal constitutional monarchy, consisting of 13 States of the Federation and 3 federal territories. Nine states have the monarchy. Seven of them - are headed by sultans. In the monarchical states, the chief executive is the Prime Minister. Each ruler is a spiritual leader of their state. The remaining four states are ruled by governors who are appointed by the central government.
Chief executive in each of these 4 states is the Prime Minister. Federal territories are controlled directly by the central government. Each five years, nine monarchs choose from among themselves the Supreme ruler and his deputy. Key responsibilities of government are vested in the parliament and the cabinet, which is headed by the federal prime minister. The Parliament of Malaysia is divided into two chambers: the lower - the House of Representatives and the upper - the Senate.
